Further development of the RaySculpt system under Windows in 1994 led to the conception of a new series of images with a theme relating to artificial consciousness: 'art therapy for an artificial life-form'.The imaginary entity is encouraged to produce imagery that charts the progress of a treatment for depression. Unfortunately the treatment is not successful, as the entity becomes aware that its inner life is as programmed as its outer.

This series was exhibited at ISEA'95 in Montreal, along with a panel presentation and conference paper 'Artificial Consciousness — Artificial Art'. See the publications section for this and other essays around the subject.

This is an archive of the Digital Art Museum for historical reference.
See dam.org for the current site.
