CHROMAS
1984-1988
unlike his previous work in which Zajec developed
the visual composition
autonomously, the Chromas videos are based on the four parts of Seconda
Sonata, a composition for piano by the Italian composer Giampaolo Coral.
After almost 16 years of working in monochrome or with a very limited
palette, for the first time, Chromas displays a full, 256 color palette.
The action in Chromas consists of color motives, fluidly dissolving into
their constituent components and reappearing in different configurations.
"Chromas",Digital Video, Duration 20'
Music: Giampaolo Coral, Seconda Sonata.
