Sand Movies This page shows some movie clips of the sand pieces produced by the Ho collaboration. Note that the QuickTime plugin is needed to play these, and that file sizes vary from 170 Kb up to over 3 Mb. The download times are well worth the wait, even on a modem the movies are simply stunning. A visitor to Hébert's site was moved to write this: "I wanted to get back to you to tell you that I enjoyed visiting your site. I was especially moved by the "sand and movement" pieces - they are sublime. I have been sitting Zen at the Montreal Zen center for over ten years now. Though I am curious to see new works of art that have elements of Zen, I have always been a traditionalist. So normally if some were to speak to me of mechanically created sculptures in the Zen tradition, I would be sceptical. But after seeing your pieces, ("virtually" speaking), I believe they truly contain the elements of space serenity and "still movement" which reflect the inner spirit of the Zen." (Nicholas). This is an archive of the Digital Art Museum for historical reference. |
