John Whitney Sr. |
Computational Periodics This short overview of Whitney's work is published in Ruth Leavitt's Artist and Computer, Harmony Press, 1976. Whitney summarises his vision of digital filmmaking in terms of 'computational periods', making possible new filmic artforms. These, he says, were imagined as far back as in Leonardo's time, but the computer makes their realisation now possible. Permission: sought.
